Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 June 2026 · Plain-language beta terms
1. The app
UseItUp is an iPhone app that reads your grocery receipts and fridge photos, estimates expiry dates, suggests meals, and tracks the value of food you use vs. waste. By using it you agree to these terms.
2. Beta software
UseItUp is in beta. It is provided "as is", may change, break, or lose data, and may be unavailable at times. Don't rely on it as your only record of anything important.
3. Your account and data
You can use the app anonymously or sign in with Apple. You're responsible for the activity under your account. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
4. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app: no illegal use, no attempts to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and no uploading content you don't have the right to.
5. Subscriptions
Some features (the savings tracker, unlimited scans) require a paid subscription, sold and billed through Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Apple's terms govern the purchase.
6. Estimates, not advice
Expiry dates and meal suggestions are estimates to help you plan. They are not food-safety, dietary, or medical advice. Always use your own judgement before eating something — when in doubt, throw it out.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, UseItUp isn't liable for spoiled food, missed expiries, lost data, or other indirect or incidental damages arising from using a beta product.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Contact & governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Questions: kenta.waibel@gmail.com
